If you’re in the market for a new Jeep Wrangler, you’ve likely come across the Rubicon, Sahara, and Sport trim levels. Each Wrangler trim has something different to offer depending on your needs. Now let's dive deeper and discuss the differences between the Rubicon, Sahara, and Sport trim levels, so you can make an informed decision when picking the best Wrangler for you.

First, let’s look at the Sport trim also known as the base model also known as my personal trim level. A Sport is perfect for those who want a Wrangler that’s great on and off-roads, but doesn't want to break the bank. These saving don't come free though. In a 2018 JKU Sport I have crank windows, no power locks, a guessing game for climate control, and the same radio Jeeps been using since 2007. That being said, if you are ok with missing some modern amenities, the Sport trim could be an answer. Saving you more money to spend on modifications, or helping a Wrangler break into your price range. Personally the Sports are a gateway to the world of wranglers, with the dream being to one day have a Rubicon or now I guess a 392.
Next, we have the Sahara trim. This style of Wrangler is focused more on on-road performance. It comes with a power-dome hood, aluminum wheels, and a body-colored grille. It also has a luxurious interior and additional sound insulation, so you can cruise in comfort. It comes standard with the Uconnect system with a 7-inch touchscreen and voice command for the JL. If you're looking to get a used JK, just know that they have the old 6 inch display that Jeep used for over ten years. The Sahara is a great choice for those who want the ungraded interior from the Rubicon, but wants something that’s more comfortable and on-road biased.
Lastly, the Rubicon trim of the Jeep Wrangler is the most adventurous of the trims and includes several off-road focused features. It includes an upgraded suspension and an available 4:1 Rock-Trac transfer case, providing exceptional performance in rugged terrain. The Rubicon trim also includes specially designed tires for off-roading, upgraded axles, off-road bumpers, steel skid plates to protect the underbelly of the vehicle, rock rails to protect the sides, electronic sway bars for improved handling, and a high-clearance design for better approach and departure angles. With my personal favorite difference being the red seat belts.
So, if you’re looking for the best Jeep Wrangler for your needs, take a closer look at the Rubicon, Sahara, and Sport trims. The Rubicon is perfect for those who need extra off-roading capability, the Sahara is better for on-road comfort, and the Sport trim is great for those who want to save and are ok without some creature comforts. No matter which level you choose, you’ll be sure to fall in love with your Wrangler.
